Olivia d’Abo stars in director Bernard Rose’s “The Devil’s Violinist” in the role of Primrose Blackstone alongside fellow British actors Jared Harris and Joely Richardson. Celebrated violinist David Garrett plays Paganini. The film is a period piece about the life story of Italian violinist and composer, Niccolo Paganini who rose to fame as a virtuoso in the early 19th century. In the role of Primrose Blackstone, d’Abo plays a hardcore feminist leader of “The Ladies League of Moral Strength” who preaches on the streets of Covent Garden with her brigade, protesting Paganini as she gives her sermons.
The film premiered in Munich, Germany at the Mathäser Filmpalast on October 25, 2013 and screens in Germany’s cinemas starting on October 31, 2013. The film will be screening at AFM 2013 on November 7th and 9th at AMC in Santa Monica, California.
